April Fool’s Day Call Leads to Successful Kidney Transplant
Neal Dillow had been waiting on a transplant for several years when he got a call on April Fool’s Day that a kidney was available. He thought it was a joke at first – but the kidney was real. He and his wife, Lisa, are incredibly grateful to the donor and their family. “Thank you for giving my husband back to me,” Lisa said.

Against All Odds, Donor’s Kidney a Match for Hometown Friend
When Matt Carlson’s life was cut short after a medical emergency, his wife, Heather, was devastated. “I wanted God to show me why – give me some purpose,” she said. Then she remembered a hometown friend who was in need of a kidney transplant. She asked the hospital to consider a directed donation, and against all odds, Matt turned out to be a match.

Virginia Woman Pays it Forward as Organ Donor
Brittany Hoover was a kind, adventurous woman who loved giving to others. She rescued stray cats and coached youth sports as a way of paying forward all that she had received. When Brittany tragically died of cardiac arrest at 32, her family learned that she was a registered organ donor – a surprise, but not a shock, given Brittany’s nature. As a result of her generous decision, several lives have been saved through organ transplants, and two people have regained their eyesight.

Tissue implant helps Montana woman get back to her mission
Fran Albrecht has dedicated her life to supporting others, but when she was injured in a ski accident, the roles were reversed – and suddenly she needed help. She got back on her feet thanks to a tissue implant from a donor to repair her ACL. “I don’t know if I have the words to express my gratitude for such an incredible gift,” she said. “It has allowed me to continue to be my best in service to others.”
