PAD DEMINERALIZATION TECHNOLOGY
PRECISION OF DEMINERALIZATION
WHAT IT DOES
PAD is a proprietary technology that precisely manages the demineralization process to consistently target ideal residual calcium levels for optimal osteoinductive potential.
WHY IT'S NEEDED
Demineralization, or the reduction of mineral content of bone allografts, mimics the body's natural bone remodeling process and exposes native growth factors embedded within the bone matrix (such as BMPs, among others). These 'osteoinductive' growth factors are known to provide signals that help naturally induce the formation of new bone.
WHY IT'S DIFFERENT
HOW IT WORKS
Through a series of computer-controlled steps that are tailored to each graft, demineralizing acid is delivered within a closed-vessel system, then drained and neutralized with buffer until the desired residual calcium level is achieved.
Residual calcium levels are then verified as part of our stringent quality assurance process.
