Elizabeth Sexton Research Fund

Elizabeth Sexton was a teacher in Gloucester, VA. On her 23rd birthday Elizabeth was in a single car accident. Elizabeth was given 12 hours to live, but she beat all odds, and lived another 13.5 years. In that time, Elizabeth made progress beyond all doctors' expectations. The last two years of her life, Elizabeth was using an eye-gaze computer for basic communication. Sadly, Elizabeth passed away in November 2016. Through LifeNet Health Elizabeth was an organ donor, saving two lives with her kidneys. Also through the LifeNet Health Foundation, a fund was set up in her honor. The fund will be used for neurological and regenerative research. We hope that this fund will honor Elizabeth's desire to teach and help others who are suffering from a brain injury.
