Grief and Loss Resource Literature for Healthcare Professionals
Many healthcare professionals regularly ask us for grief and loss information. Above we mentioned our Library Bibliography which is updated periodically with books you may find helpful. In addition, we encourage you to visit our grief support website at the link below and browse Grief Words, a series of articles written by noted author and educator, Alan D. Wolfelt, Ph.D. Dr. Wolfelt offers brief and easy-to-understand information concerning many different grief and loss situations, including several from a caregiver and personal perspective.
Grief and Loss Trainingfor Healthcare Professionals
LifeNet Health Donor Family Services has developed a training program for healthcare professionals — specifically critical care nursing and support staff — to help them to become more comfortable and confident as caregivers to patients and their families who may be grieving the loss of a loved one.
The LifeNet Health Grief and Loss course is offered in two component parts: an on-line training and a follow-up classroom session at the healthcare facility. The on-line training emphasizes grief and loss information and reflection exercises to gain a personal perspective to the material. A course workbook is distributed to each participant to use as they work through the on-line component.
If you or your facility is interested in participating in our training, please contact Debbie Hutt at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 757-609-4685.
