The First Full-Thickness Decellularized Placental Membrane
Unlike traditional single- or bi-layer placental membranes, Matrion includes the complete trophoblast layer that is up to four times thicker than the amniotic or chorionic membranes alone and includes the majority of native biologic factors of the placenta.1 In addition, Matrion's unique thickness also provides a robust natural barrier that may help prevent bacterial ingress and inflammation associated with infection. Matrion does not fold in on itself when rehydrated, making it less likely to migrate away from its intended site of application.2
Provides important extracellular membrane components as well as a wide variety of native growth factors, cytokines, and other proteins.
Includes the cellular, reticular, and pseudobasement membrane containing additional native growth factors.
Up to four times thicker than the amniotic or chorionic membranes, and contains the majority of biological factors in the placental membrane.

Exceptional Handling with No Graft “Roll Up” During Placement
Matrion's unique thickness provides a robust natural barrier and does not fold upon itself when hydrated, making it less likely to migrate away from its intended site of application.
Retains Up to 50% More Native Growth Factors
Analyses have demonstrated that the trophoblast layer accounts for more than 50% of the total amount of key biological factors in placental tissues. Matrion's enhanced porosity makes it a uniquely biohospitable scaffold for nutrient exchange, cell migration, and neovascularization.

Dr. Zakee Shabazz, DPM
“Matrion's thickness doesn't allow it to fold over on itself during application, making it easier to handle and stimulates natural progression to the proliferative phase.”
