Tissue Recovery, Preparation and Distribution
LifeNet Health is the only full-service tissue bank located in the Pacific Northwest that facilitates tissue recovery, preparation and transplantation.
When someone passes away, the death is reported by a hospital, medical examiner, funeral home or law enforcement authority and a referral is made to a tissue recovery partner. The LifeNet Health recovery team performs a thorough physical examination and begins the recovery process using established surgical guidelines. Recovered tissues are then transported to the Renton facility for preparation and distribution. Once the health assessment is complete and testing is satisfactory, the donor gifts are made available for transplantation. Healthy tissue that is distributed back to the local community for life-enhancing surgeries in the areas of sports medicine, cardiac and vascular therapies, skin and wound regeneration, or general orthopedics and trauma.
